DE, cartridge, sand
A DE grid that has not been pulled apart in a year is holding more dirt than it looks. Cartridges that have gone flat do not recover with a hose. Sand that has been in the tank for six or seven seasons channels water around the dirt instead of through it. We open the tank, inspect laterals, replace O-rings, and set the pressure “clean” mark so the next visit has a baseline.
Safety while we are in the pad
Drain covers, a tight pump lid, bonding wires that are still attached, a timer that is not bypassed with a wire nut — those are the unglamorous checks that keep a pool legal and a motor alive. We do this with the seasonal filter service, and we do it in August if that is when you call.
